Sony Xperia Z Ultra to hit stores on 2 Aug

Sony India launched the Xperia Z Ultra phablet in India for Rs. 46,990. The Xperia Z Ultra has a 6.4-inch display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and 344 ppi pixel density. The smartphone will be hitting store in India from August 2 and will be available in multiple colors including Black, White and Purple.

In spite of its large size, the Xperia Z Ultra is relatively slim at 6.5 mm and weighs about 212 grams. The Xperia Z Ultra is IP57 certified to be dust and water proof and water resistant up to a depth of 1 meter and up to 30 minutes. The Xperia has Triluminos display technology which Sony claims results in colors looking rich and natural.

The Xperia Z Ultra comes with internal storage of 16GB and supports microSD cards up to 64GB. The phablet has a 2GB of RAM, a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. It supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Hotspot, DLNA and Bluetooth 4.0.

The smartphone also comes with capability to let users write and sketch with any pencil and selected stylus or pen (capacitive stylus or metal pen with tip diameter over 1mm).

Xperia Z Ultra has an 8MP Exmor RS rear camera that can shoot 1080p videos at 30 fps and a front-facing 2MP camera for video chats. Sony Xperia Z Ultra runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and has a Lithium Ion 3050 mAH battery.

Micromax’s launched Bling 3 A86

After the successful launch of its Canvas 4 earlier this month, Micromax has now introduced a new handset, Bling A86, with a price tag of Rs. 9,599. The phone has crystal studded keys and marble finish look. The phone is available on Snapdeal.com for Rs 9,599. The home screen button is coated with Swarovski zirconia crystals.

The phone runs on Android v4.1 Jelly Bean, and has a 1 GHz dual-core processor. The Micromax Bling A86 features a 4-inch touchscreen and a 5 megapixel rear camera. It also has a 0.3 megapixel front camera.

While Micromax has not revealed the internal memory of the smartphone, the phone does have a microSD slot with a 32 GB limit. The phone is packed with a 1600 mAh battery.

The phone supports Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 and has a Gravity Sensor.

Karbonn launched A1 Star and A5 Star

Handset manufacturer Karbonn Mobiles launched two budget smartphones, the Smart A1 Star and the A5 Star. The Karbonn Smart A1 Star has a price tag of Rs 3,514, while the A5 Star is priced at Rs 4,790. Both the phones are dual-SIM handsets.

The Smart A1 Star has a 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels. This gives it a pixel density of 165 ppi.

The A5 Star also has a 3.5-inch display and the same 480 x 320 pixel resolution.

The Smart A1 Star has a 1GHz processor along with 256MB of RAM and runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The A5 Star runs on  Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It has a 1GHz processor along with 512MB of RAM.

The Smart A1 Star has a 3 megapixel rear camera, and a VGA camera in front.

The A5 Star has a 3.2 megapixel rear camera, but it does not have front-facing camera.

The Smart A1 Star has 512MB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card. It has a 1,450 mAh battery. Connectivity options include 2G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Smart Namo, an Android smartphone for Narendra Modi fans.

Good news for Narendra Modi fans, soon there will be a smartphone dedicated to him.

Smart Namo, an independent body formed by Modi fans, has announced it will soon launch a mobile phone by the same name.

The description on the official website www.smartnamo.com says, ‘We are from land of Gujarat & in electronic smartphone business in China. NAMO stands for Narendra Modi and Next Generation Android Mobile Odyssey’.

As per the brief product specifications posted on the website, the 5-inch SmartNamo smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek MT6589 SoC that includes a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and include Gorilla Glass 2 protection and a 13 megapixel camera.

The phone, according to the website, will be available in four variants with 1GB or 2GB RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal memory.

Apart from launching the standard version of the device, the group has already starting working on the "Shri Narendra Modi signature edition" handset.

The spokesperson for Smart Namo, Ammeet Desai told The Wall Street Journal that they got the idea for this phone from China itself, where several products like MP3 players and smartphones are sold with branding of the leaders.

While no time line was given for the launch of the device, the group says it the smartphone will be launched "very soon." The report claims that Smart Namo phone will cost Rs 16,000 at launch and have videos as well as apps related to Modi.

HTC has launched HTC Desire 600 smartphone in India with a price tag of Rs 26,860. HTC Desire 600 runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is a dual-sim phone. It is aided and abetted by the HTC Sense user interface with the HTC BlinkFeed home screen.

The smartphone has 4.5 inch super LCD 2 capacitive touch screen display with 960x540p resolution with 245ppi pixel density.

Google unveils new tab Nexus 7

Google and Asus has announced a new thinner, lighter tablet Nexus 7 (new model) with full 1080p HD resolution display. The new Nexus 7 will run on latest version of Google’s mobile OS Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The new tablet has significant improvement over the first Nexus 7 in terms of hardware, camera, weight and mobile operating system.

The new ASUS Google Nexus 7 tablet is the first device running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The new Nexus 7 is an 8.45 mm thin tablet weighing just 290 grams and will have a 7-inch touchscreen display with 1080p HD resolution. The old Nexus 7 featured 1280x800 pixel resolution with pixel density of 216 pixels per inch. That has been increased to 1920x1200 pixel resolution with pixel density of 323 pixels per inch.

The new Nexus 7 tab has a quad-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Pro along with 2 GB RAM. Whereas the old Nexus 7 had the NVIDIA Tegra 3 chipset with 1 GB RAM. 

Google's new Nexus 7 will also have dual-band WiFi support. Google has als provided the new Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update with several new features such as multi-user restricted profiles, Bluetooth Low Energy support, Hindi language support and several other features.

The new tab will have the new Bluetooth 4.0 LE that will work nicely with the Bluetooth Smart support in the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. It will also have a HDMI output for connecting the tablet directly with a HD display. There will be near field communication support and wireless charging support.

Google has not revealed the actual battery capacity but mentioned that it can now support playback of HD video for 9 hours and 10 hours worth of web browsing.

The new Nexus 7 has the same 1.2 megapixel camera in the front and a new 5 megapixel camera at the back. It also features SlimPort technology support that allows connecting the tablet to a larger display via HDMI, VGA or DisplayPort connectors.

Google will start selling the new Nexus 7 from next week onwards starting $229 for 16 GB Wi-Fi only model, $269 for 32 GB Wi-Fi model and $349 for 32 GB 4G LTE supporting model for the US region.

BlackBerry is all set to launch its much-awaited BlackBerry Q5 handset in India on July 16.

Xolo T1000 smartphone launching on July 15

Xolo will soon launch an Nvidia Tegra 3 powered quad core Android phone Xolo T1000.

The phone is available for pre-order on Flipkart for Rs 16,499 and the company has confirmed that it will start shipping the product starting July 15.
The T1000 is powered by a 1.5 GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core processor. It will also get a 12 core Nvidia ULP GeForce graphics processor, 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB inbuilt memory.

Xolo T1000 has a 4.7 inch HD (1280 x 720 pixel) capacitive touchscreen IPS display based on one-glass solution (OGS) technology and will run on Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean). Gionee, a Chinese smartphone brand has announced two smartphones under its E-life series E-Life E5 and E-Life E6.

Gionee E-Life E5 is a slim phone with 6.85 mm thickness and has a 4.8 inch HD Amoled display, 16 GB inbuilt memory, an 8 megapixel rear and a 5 megapixel front camera.

The phone has a 1.5 GHz quad core processor and is very slim at 6.85 mm thickness. The phone has a 4.8 inch HD Super Amoled display at 306 PPi with 1280 x 720 pixel screen resolution and runs on Android Jelly Bean v4.2. E-Life E5 comes with an 8 megapixel BSI rear camera and a 5 megapixel full HD front camera.

Nokia has launched a new smartphone, the Lumia 1020, with a powerful 41-megapixel camera.

Spice Pinnacle FHD launched for Rs 16,990

Samsung launched Galaxy S4 mini and S4 Zoom

Samsung launched two new devices: Galaxy S4 mini and the Galaxy S4 Zoom.

The Galaxy S4 mini is priced at Rs 27,900 while the Galaxy S4 Zoom is priced at Rs 29,900.

Galaxy S4 Mini runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and has a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display. It has 8 -mega pixel rear-facing camera and a 1.9 MP front camera.

It has 1.7 GHz dual-core, 1.5 GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage which can be expanded to 64 GB via microSD card. It has a Li-Ion 1900 mAh battery.

The S4 mini has some features of the S4 such as the Sound&Shot, Story Album, S Translator but it does not have any of the gesture features.

US-based mobile phone compny Blu products coming to India.

Blu Products, a US-based company is coming to the Indian smartphone market next month.

Android Guruz, the company that offer sales, services and replacement warranty, and even experience zones for most of the Chinese handsets will be launching Blu Products' smartphones in August through their stores and online retail portal in the price range of Rs 7,000 and Rs 15,000.

Android Guruz has plans to launch another 200 stores across the country in the next 12 to 15 months and has already opened one store in Delhi.

Life View, Life One, Life Play, Touchbook 7.0 S S, and Dash Music are the Blu Products smartphones which are likely to made available.

Micromax Canvas 4 has been launched.

Micromax has launched its new smartphone the Canvas 4 at the price tag of Rs 17,999. The Canvas 4 has a gesture user interface, “Just blow a kiss to unlock the phone.

The Canvas 4 has 5-inch screen with 720 pixel resolution protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It has a 1.2 ghz quad-core MediaTek’s 6589 processor, 1GB RAM and runs on Android 4.2.1 Jelly bean. The phone comes with 16 GB internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.

The Canvas 4 is a dual-SIM smartphone which is available in white and black colours and has 2000 mAh battery. 

It has a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera with optical image stabilisation, HDR and can record 1080p videos. The phone can shoot 99 pictures in 15 seconds and do vertical panorama shots. The camera also have the video pinning feature similar to the Samsung Galaxy S4.

New upcoming mobile phone Auxus Nuclea N1 FHD from Indian manufacturer iBerry.

The phone has a MT6589T quad core Turbo   1.5 GHz processor with dedicated PowerVR SGX 544MP graphics engine and it runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The iBerry Auxus Nuclea N1 features a full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution display built using One Glass technology. It is one of the low cost full HD smartphones in India. The smartphone will have a massive 8 megapixel front facing camera and a 13 megapixel backlit sensor based rear camera in a 9.6 mm slim casing.

The device comes with features such as gesture control and voice unlock for easy and hands free usage. The storage is likely to be 8/16 GB internal with up to 32 GB expandable memory via micro SD cards.
